Nourished by the late afternoon sun, a fresh gardenia bud begins to unfurl. Photographed in Coral Springs, Florida, May 8, 2014. Higher resolution versions of this photo can be viewed at 500px.com.
This is really nice, Ken, and I love the blown out background.
Thank you, Elisa. I got lucky that afternoon—the light coming in from the west gave the eastern sky a nice blue shine, which really helped with the background.
So soft and lovely, Kenn. Dreamy like a painting. The bokeh is wonderful. I still can’t “like”. Rats!
Thank you, George—and, as always, while I never take a “like” for granted, your “likes” are always implied!
All these photos of flowers. I am now dreaming flowers. Great shot, Ken. I love the way you framed the whole image with the background. Nice angle! xx Amy
Thank you, Amy. The gardenia was just opening up, which caught my eye, but the late afternoon sky was so blue that I wanted somehow to include a taste of that, too. Glad you noticed. Now keep dreaming!
I am learning how important the background is as well as the image itself. I really love the way you captured this Gardenia. Very different and yup I do like different. LOL (((HUGS))) Amy
🙂
I so love gardenias, and this one is a true beauty
Have a wonderful weekend, Kenn.
Thank you, Lisa, and a wonderful weekend to you, too.
Woaw, unbelievable. Soooo beautiful.
Thank you, Ema!
Very special flower, so fragile! Nice shot. K.
Thank you, Kamila!
Wonderful photo to an amazing flower !
Thank you, my friend!
Fragrant beauty.
Thanks, Pat. Fragrant, indeed. This morning, that bush—which has been planted near our front walk for almost 20 years—sported at least two dozen more blooms, so that fresh scent is now blanketing the neighborhood.
