Like a supermodel who never strikes a bad pose, the Desert Rose bush on my front walk—ever photogenic—never fails to impress. With summer on the approach, this new bloom offers a preview of the colorful weeks to come. Photographed in Coral Springs, Florida, June 11, 2014. Beautiful simply beautiful
You are very kind—thank you!
Beyond beautiful!!!
Thank you! And thanks for stopping by!
Dewy, fresh and stunning 😍
Thank you, Himani!
I just came back to see if you had any new posts and dang if I didn’t have to put some shades on. This little Lady is BRIGHT. NEON BRIGHT! The color is so cool as it glows right off your page. Can I have her? I really LOVE her! I have some bright ones too, but not like this! Lucky YOU! xx
Thank you, Amy—she appreciates your love, and I assure you, if you stood in front of her with your camera, she would love you, too! But the last part of your comment got it right—I was just lucky with this one. Right place, right time, camera in hand. That pretty much sums up my technique. 🙂
There is “some” talent in there somewhere too, Kenn. I know all about those shots, being in the right spot at the right time. It makes me walk with a bit more reverence for all that I do behold. Keep on walking into magic, Kenn. That is the only way to live! xx Amy
🙂
A beautiful and very delicate flower !
Excellent photo
I loved it very much
Thank you for the kind words, my friend—much appreciated!
Great color and wonderful isolation and Bokeh. Y’all have some really nice flowers in FL.
Thank you, Deborah. Yes, luckily for us shutter-snappers down here in the tropics, Florida flora can be very photogenic.
My Mom retired down there about 2yrs ago. I hope to get out there to visit her this winter and do some birding, and see what flowers you have in bloom then.
You won’t be disappointed—bring your cameras!
Really well-done, Kenn. Great DOF and Bokeh. It’s difficult to capture the lighter part of the petals without blowouts. Superb job in bright light! 🙂
Thank you, George—I was in the right place, at the right time, with a hard-to-screw-up subject posing very obediently. 🙂
Lovely.
Thank you, Pat.
This is truly so beautiful, Kenn.
The color is amazing.
Wishing you a wonderful week.
Thank you, Lisa, and a wonderful week to you, too!
Deliziosa!!
Grazie mille, cara Patrizia!
It’s so lovely! I think if I had one of those on my walkway I would take a picture of it everyday! And the water droplets just makes it so much more lovely…it’s one of my favorite things! 🙂
Thank you so much, Margaret. Your impulse is the same as mine—when it flowers, it’s such a photogenic plant, with each bloom so uniquely interesting, that resisting the urge to photograph it every day takes discipline. 🙂
Ken, that is Awesome!!!! What an incredible job you did here. And what a stunning beauty!! Thank you SO much! Love, Amy
Thank you, Amy! You are very, very kind!
Forgive me for misspelling your name. Oops. And you are very welcome! Love, Amy
“Ken,” “Kenn,” “Hey You” — I answer to any of them. 🙂

Lovely!
Thank you, Jayden!
Beautiful photo!
Thank you, my friend!
Super!
Thank you, Alois!
Ha, I like the comparison to a supermodel for this super beauty!
Thank you, Elisa. I try, as much as possible, not to post too many photos of the same subject, but this particular bush often meddles with those efforts.
