With a flower as tiny as a ladybug, the bloom from the weed known as Cupid’s Shaving Brush (or lilac tasselflower, or emilia sonchifolia) is a challenge to photograph, even with a macro lens. But who doesn’t love a challenge? Captured in Coral Springs, Florida, April 18, 2014. Higher resolution versions of this photo can be viewed at 500px.com.

  Thank you, Lisa. The flowers were so tiny and hard to focus, but the background was so variegated I figured maybe the macro lens would blur it all into a nice bokeh. I got lucky. You have a great weekend, too.
