This is interesting. Light and shadow. It’s also difficult to photograph. I have no luck with it. My son-in-law, Jeremy, has fancy studio lights, but I still cannot manage a decent photograph using artificial light. A limitation that I just have to accept, I reckon. 🙂 You manage it wonderfully well.
Thank you, George, you are very kind. I’m not a big fan of artificial light, either, and when I take these candlelit shots I never use any light but the light from the candles themselves. The key for me is a tripod (obviously), a remote shutter snapper (so as not to shake the camera), and then playing around with differing combinations of slow shutter speeds and wide aperture settings. The results are often surprising, but rarely disappointing.
