I don’t water it. I don’t fertilize it. I don’t move it into or out of the light. For years and years, the potted desert rose bush on my front walk has been nurtured solely by whatever rain and sun the South Florida clime provides. Yet despite my willful lack of care, each new season’s blooms grow fuller, more colorful, and more photogenic than the last. Photographed in Coral Springs, Florida, March 31, 2015.
