Great!
Thank you!
Exquisite photo, Kenn. I love seeing the light through the gap in the bill.
Thank you, Jet—so glad you like it!
OH, I love him! And what great light and detail!
The limpkins hang around a lot this time of year, and they are so willing to engage with people. This guy struck several different poses for me, letting me snap away for quite awhile. Glad you like the pic!
A truly stunning portrait of a beautiful creature, Kenn.
Thanks so much, Lisa.
Lovely portrait.
Thank you, Pat.
Look at that bill! What sort of food does s/he dig up with that?
Thanks, Lori. From what I’ve read, limpkins mostly eat apple snails, using their long bills to remove the snail from its shell without even breaking the shell.
Great image!
Thank you, Jayden!
Stunning image.
Thank you, Tim.
Very nice~ just look at the nuances of color on the bill!
Thank you, Melissa—so glad you like it!
Loved the clarity of this photo ❤ Did you take it up close or from far away Kenn?
Thank you, Khloe! 🙂 I was about 20 feet away, but using a 500mm lens. I got lucky—the bird was very congenial, holding still for quite a while, which enabled me to frame the shot without any need for later cropping.
You’re welcome Kenn 🙂 It was seriously a good photo. 😉 Being 20 feet away and you can still maintain a great clarity of the photo. Good that the limpkin was holding still for a while. Otherwise, it’s hard to capture them.
You are so kind, Khloe. With the fearlessness of the limpkin and the power of the lens, my role was easy—I just had to snap the shutter. 🙂
Aww thank you for the compliment! You are way too humble Kenn. I’m sure you are a great photographer. I genuinely love you photos and I hope you keep it up! 😉 Probably the limpkin already knew you were there and he/she just wanted you to capture his/ her beauty lol 😀
Ah, yes, that must be it—I’m building a reputation among the limpkin community! 🙂
hahaha 😀
Limpkin! My favorite! Great catch.
Thank you, my friend!
