This Curly-tailed Lizard—self-assured and apparently unperturbed by the clicks of my camera—lounges in the afternoon sun. Photographed in Boynton Beach, Florida, July 11, 2014. Higher resolution versions of this photo can be viewed at 500px.com.

  Thank you, John. From about 5 feet away, using a 250mm lens opened to f/7, the lush green foliage in the background became almost studio-like, which was a delightful surprise to me. I got lucky!
