Enticed by the bright color and the abundant nectar of some Butterfly Milkweed, a mighty Monarch enjoys a leisurely springtime lunch in Boynton Beach, Florida. Photographed April 8, 2014. Higher resolution versions of this photo can be viewed at 500px.com.
Gorgeous shot, Kenn! 🙂
Thank you, Himani! 🙂
April in Michigan doesn’t look like this. Beautiful picture!
Thank you, Carol! And here’s hoping Spring’s beauty finds its way to Michigan sooner rather than later.
Love this pic!!!
Thank you, Linda!

Much thanks, Alois! Your photos are wonderful—I’ll be following you.
What a beautiful composition this is, Kenn.
You have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you, Lisa, and a wonderful weekend to you, too!
Cross your fingers my Monarchs come back this year, Kenn. I have a Butterfly Bush which is huge and gorgeous, but over the years, I have seen a radical decline in Monarchs, which is so sad! xx
My fingers are crossed—hoping this year brings back the Monarchs!
Wow !!!!!!! it is the only word for this picture Kenn 😉
Thank you, Sophie! 🙂
Beautiful! I can’t wait to sow my milkweed seeds and see these delightful creatures later this year!
Thank you, Laura. I hope you’ll take (and post!) some photos when your Milkweed blooms and the butterflies arrive!
Pray that I can get them growing! 🙂
A beautiful shot!
Thank you, Pat!
I’m always amazed when I see a nice image of a butterfly. They are so difficult to make a photo of. Nice job.
Thank you—I got lucky on this one. The Milkweed nectar must have been very tasty—the Monarch just perched there comfortably for the better part of a minute, allowing me to snap more than a dozen pics.
Stunning Shot!!! LOVE this!!!! Good for you! xx Amy
Thank you, Amy!
You are SO welcome, Kenn!!! Love, Amy
