From the muck and mud of Florida swampland, the stalk of a blooming pickerelweed rises above the sawgrass, adding an accent to the blue sky overhead. Photographed September 22, 2013, at Green Cay Nature Center in Boynton Beach. Higher resolution versions of this photo can be viewed at 500px.com.

A precise metaphor here. Just yesterday, I heard Bill Clinton respond to Piers Morgan’s question (at the CGI conference) about the future of global society. Essentially, he said it would rise from the “muck and the mud” to become a world society that we cannot imagine now. A happy message from both of you. Yes. 🙂

  Thank you, Yvonne. In a prior post, I quoted Emerson who once said that a weed was a plant whose virtues have never been discovered. The camera helps us discover the virtues in so many things around us.
